WELDING FUME LEV+ RPE TESTING
What is LEV Testing? LEV or Local Exhaust Ventilation systems are designed to protect workers from hazardous dust and fumes. To ensure the systems are functioning correctly they need regular testing by a qualified person.
The Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 requires the thorough examination and testing at least every 14 months for Fume extraction equipment and Respiratory Protective Equipment.
Our experienced engineers are able to carry out this testing on site during machine services to reduce costs using the latest test equipment and practices.
Testing is carried out in accordance with the guidelines set out in the Health & Safety Executives Guidance HSG258.
- A thorough visual examination is carried out of the equipment to verify the LEV is in efficient working order, in good repair and in a clean condition.
- Mechanical and electrical testing of the unit and its working functions against manufacturers specifications.
- Cleaning/replacement of filters if required.
- Pass of fail certification.
